AKAI PRO AX73

Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer

The Akai AX73 is a 6 voice Analog Synthesizer. The AX73 can be used as a master key-split keyboard by using the MIDI split function to indicate the split point, dividing the keyboard into an upper and lower section, and assigning different external sound sources to these sections. A sampler input jack (13pin/din) allows connection to an Akai S-612 sampler. The samples are then routed through the AX73 for editing or can be combined with the internal sounds. A tape memory jack allows the internal patches to be saved and loaded via a cassette tape. Pedals can be connected for use as a sustain or patch advance trigger. An “edit recall” button recalls the last voice data edited in case edit mode is exited by accident or if play mode is entered to find an available patch to store the patch being edited. The AX73 was first released in 1986 by Akai Professional of Japan.

Original studio samples converted to 160kbps mp3’s for player.
